THE FACTS ABOUT

The National United Merchants Beverage Association is comprised of African Americans who are in the licensed beverage and hospitality industries. These businesses are as varied as restaurants, clubs, lounges and retail beverage stores.

N.U.M.B.A. consists of chapters in major urban markets such as St. Louis, East St. Louis, Atlanta, California, Central Missouri, Cincinnati, Chicago, Kansas City, New York, Pittsburgh and Southern New Jersey.

MISSION

The National United Merchants Beverage Association's goal is to strengthen the image of African Americans in the 'industry by assisting *in developing culturally sensitive, age appropriate marketing programs.

This is to be accomplished via a three-point strategy.

1. A yearly national trade show and marketing conference to inform, educate and develop new strategies for our community.

2. A yearly economic summit to develop strategies to make our retail trade a more viable and positive economic force with the minority consumer market.

3. A national scholarship /internship program for young adults interested in serving our marketplace.
